Dog Days

This late period of July into early August is perhaps the most difficult time of the year for me.  I do have about three weeks off as summer school ended (I am a full-time high school teacher as well as a professional musician), but the heat is hard to take.  Although my soul comes from the below the Mason-Dixon line in so many ways, my DNA is mostly northern European, and I get the feeling that my ancestors were likely not happy unless they were cold.

These next few weeks have given me the time to get organized and reflect on my life, my family, my music.  I hope to do some home recording and writing and just take some badly needed time off.  I would also like to write.  Everyday.
